This blog is about an imperfect person who is doing her best to become a better Catholic wife, mother and woman. I have struggled with infertility, self-image and many other things in my life, but as my father always said "You must live by Faith." So therefore I strive to live "by faith" and let God guide my every footstep.

WARNING – IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT MY REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM QUIT READING NOW!!!!
Well, the Dr’s visits have been completed. Dr. Keefe was really positive about moving forward. During the surgery she removed a small amount of endometriosis and a fair amount of scar tissue from the outside of my uterus and bladder. She also took a culture from my uterus to make sure there are no infections. She said my uterus looked healthy. I had a peritubal cyst on my left ovary and fallopian tube. She drained the cyst during the surgery and doesn’t think that it is a problem at all. My left ovary was connected to my fallopian tube so she disconnected it so it would lie where it should be. Then she injected my uterus with dye and watched it flow through my right tube. She did not see it in my left tube but she feels confident that it is not blocked. Both of my ovaries are polycystic but with all of the other indications she feels that I am ovulating. She is putting me on HCG shots to help lengthen my post ovulation cycle (because my hormones are too low during that time.) She is also putting me on T3 to help regulate my thyroid, which is out of whack. And surprise, surprise she said I also need to loose some weight. She is also going to check my insulin when I get home. If I am insulin resistant (which is possible because of the pcos and the thyroid) she will give me some medicine to help that. I know this sounds like a lot but fertility is very complicated and if one thing is out of line it can throw so many other systems out of line. (Oh and Nathan’s little guys are fine so we don’t have a problem on that side of the equation.) For now that is about all. We have some work to do but I think it is very doable! Thank you all for the love and support you have given Nathan and I during this time. We still have some small hills to climb but with your support and love we will make it.

Hi! I'm a new blogger and am waiting to hear back from Dr. Hilgers any day now. I was so happy to hear what you had to say. How are things going now?
